Our Mission

To help children build confidence, coordination, and resilience through safe, structured physical play — and to give adults the tools and confidence to guide it.

It Started With a Simple Observation

Children today are:

The Founder's Perspective

GrapplePlay was built from years of working directly with children in real environments — not theory alone.

Over time, one pattern became impossible to ignore
Children weren’t lacking energy or ability. They were lacking safe opportunities to move, interact, and build confidence through experience.
In many settings, physical play had either become unstructured and chaotic — or removed altogether.
What was missing was simple:

GrapplePlay was created to fill that gap.
To give parents, educators, and coaches a clear way to support movement, confidence, and interaction — without needing specialist knowledge or equipment.
What started as a coaching approach has evolved into a structured system now used by families, schools, and educators worldwide.

Built Through Real-World Experience

GrapplePlay was built from years of working directly with children in real environments — not theory alone. Over 15 years working with more than 10,000 young people across five continents, one pattern became impossible to ignore: children weren’t lacking energy or ability; they were lacking safe opportunities to move, interact, and build confidence through experience. Time and again, it became clear that children thrive when physical interaction is safe, progressive, and well guided.

A Growing Gap in Childhood Development

At the same time, physical play in many environments had either become unstructured and chaotic or removed altogether. Children today are moving less, experiencing less physical interaction, and missing important opportunities to build confidence, resilience, and connection through play. What was missing was a simple, structured way to guide physical play safely, progressively, and with purpose.

Why GrapplePlay Exists

GrapplePlay was created to fill that gap — giving parents, educators, and coaches a clear way to support movement, confidence, interaction, and emotional development without needing specialist knowledge or equipment. What began as a coaching approach has since evolved into a structured system used by families, schools, and educators around the world, all built around one simple idea: helping children build confidence, connection, and resilience through safe, structured physical play.
GrapplePlay combines real-world teaching experience with principles from child development and movement learning.
